Aida
I
started working on this massive stadium production of Aida
as projection designer, bringing Patrick Watkinson on
board to supplement my photographic and imaging skills
with his scenographic background.
We
quickly learned and progressed from a 6,000 seat venue in
Seville to the Olympic Stadium in Lisbon; developing
original solutions to apply eleven 7kW Xenon projectors,
making a huge animated scenery 70m wide and 18m high.
To
assure the finest results I became involved in the
technical production of the event, planning venue and
stage orientation; integrating this with the location of
the projectors to produce startling images, large and
vivid enough to fill the national football stadium in
Denmark, and other sports stadia and arenas in Amsterdam,
Buenos Aires, Helsinki, Zurich, and Pretoria. In London
the production took place at Earl's Court...
