imaging

People are always asking "what is imaging..?"

At the creative end, it is making a photograph: I worked as a photographer for several years in the mid-eighties, mixing newspaper and arts photography with personal work and original photography for projection in performance.

At the nuts and bolts end, it is making plans and documentation for shows and events: using mapping resources, photography, CAD software, scanning and visualisation, page layout, and electronic document preparation.

In between these extremes comes imaging for projection: this is the dark science of transferring images to a stage or location, often on a huge scale... the images may be original, or by another artist. Projection may involve large or small format film, steel or glass gobos/patterns, or arguably a well placed shadow.

Combining these elements with my design and production skills, I can offer a unique blend of creativity and practical experience to the most complex projects.
