short biography :

"Simon joined the circus as a ringboy when he left school in 1978. As a professional photographer in the 1980’s he combined news and arts photography with original images for projection in performance.

Since then he has lit about 200 shows, events, operas, dance, parties etc; in situations ranging from Europe’s finest opera houses to studios of the avant garde. He specialises in site-specific performance lighting and far eastern nocturnal zoos.

Alongside lighting design, 2004 Olivier Award nominee Simon enjoys a variety of work including design for the stage, light art installations, collaborations with visual artists, film-making and photography. He also offers production, consultancy, and lighting design services to commercial clients."
